There’s a chance I’ll never see you again
This is a testimony to a historical change in my hometown, where I was born in a small city in the interior of China. My ancestors lived here as farmers, with the development of urbanization in China, the original peaceful life was broken, the fields in my hometown gradually disappeared, replaced by high-rise buildings rising from the ground, and my family and I were forced to say goodbye to the land where my ancestors had lived and move to the city to live.My grandfather’s stony eyes seemed to be saying goodbye to all this. The disappearance of the fields did not only take away the land on which we depended for our survival, but also faded the hometown of our memories little by little in our vision.
